Interview with the RawHand Studio team, the developers of SpaceTapTap

Find a popular game just a little too fast, hard, or uncontrollable? Perhaps you should check out a clone… Today we would like to share with you our interview with the RawHand Studio team – the developers of SpaceTapTap.

Before we start we’d like to thank the team for participating in our interview and for answering our geeky questions! Thanks, guys!

…and without further ado, our interview begins…

Ok first up, why did you decide to make SpaceTapTap?

It’s not brand-new. It was made based on Unity. I found the fine source from the Unity Asset Store, bought it and developed as now. I’m sorry that there is no amazingly funny story, but it’s true! 😃

Can you tell us a little about how the minimalist graphics were made in SpaceTapTap?

I wanted the design to be as simple as the rules of the game. The shape of the spaceships is simple, as you can see. But I wanted the after-image to have an edge remaining behind when the spaceship flies.

What advice would you give a new player trying SpaceTapTap for the first time?

Take it easy! You don’t have to hang your spaceship to all the docking gears!

Ok, now for some geeky questions. What software did you use when making SpaceTapTap?

UNITY!!

Here is a difficult question. What was the hardest problem you needed to overcome when developing SpaceTapTap?

Umm… This project is a remake of paid assets. It made me realize that using someone’s code is not that easy at all. I’ll never do it again. Sometimes, editing is required during game development but I couldn’t edit anything this time. Too bad.

If you were to name one book that has influenced your work, what would it be?

Well… I started to make games because of “Angry Birds”…

Last question. Where do you get your inspiration or ideas from?

I usually get ideas from other games, movies, and drama.
