Space 8-bit. by SAB Games – Review

“They” are back… Do you remember “Them?” A month or two ago Edamame Reviews was bombarded by numerous different space shooter type games from indie studios around the world. Today we’ve got a slightly late contestant that may be the craziest of them all…

Space 8-bit. (Monsters Crush) is a retro space shooter that is… well… retro😓

To be completely honest, there is nothing “new” about this game for us to review. Sure the game is touch controlled, but it could just as easily be played on an old arcade machine, and the graphics – besides being a little clearer – are pretty much the “real thing.”

In a nutshell Space 8-bit. is a “real” retro space shooter for your flashy new smart device, and as you can imagine it looks awesome!

Based around the simplest controls in the world, “tap to shoot.” Space 8-bit. relies purely on your timing to save earth from alien invasion.

Above your space ship aliens slowly float from left to right as they slowly make their invasion of your home planet earth. As they pass directly above your ship you have exactly one chance to protect your fellow human beings from certain doom… But there’s a problem…

Your ship is positioned directly opposite earth meaning if your shot misses, you’ll hit your own planet! Adding up the numbers you’ll have hit earth once (-1) and let one invader through your defence (-1) a total of (-2) damage done to your home planet per miss!

With Space 8-bit. It’s either all or nothing…🎮

For retro style game fans, this “real” 8 bit space shooter for your smartphone is simply irresistible! If you’re in need of something a little old school for your brand new smartphone, why not try Space 8-bit? – The most retro game we’ve reviewed to date!

(If you have one of those smartphone cases that make your phone look like an arcade machine, this is a game you can’t live without!)
