Our mini-interview with the Domenico Ottolia Team, the creators of Skiplit

Do you enjoy playing simple 2D physics based games? If so, chances are you’ll love Skiplit! Based around shooting a ball into a goal within a set number of bounces, this game can be rather puzzling, but should never feel impossible.

Check out our original review of Skiplit here!

Today we would like to share with you our mini-interview with the Domenico Ottolia Teamthe creators of Skiplit.

Before we start, we’d like to thank the Domenico Ottolia Team for participating in our interview, and for spending some of their valuable time answering our questions. Thanks guys!

Now without any further ado, our interview begins.

So, how long have you been making Apps or Games?

I’ve been making apps for about four years now.

How many Apps or Games have you made?

Although I do have four other apps on the app store, including a social media app, Skiplit is my first real game.

What do you use to make your apps or games?

I’ve been using Xcode and Apple’s SpriteKit and GameplayKit to build Skiplit, and although I do really like the simplicity, I do not favor the limitations that it has, so I am considering switching to creating my own Swift game engine on top of Apple’s Metal.

Ok, so tell us about Skiplit!

Skiplit is a new, free puzzle game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, and was released just three weeks ago. (On October 18th) The object of this simple and addicting, yet impossible game is to get the ball to hit the correctly colored goal by bouncing off of walls to get around obstacles. This soon becomes a challenge when faced with a limited amount of bounces – conservation is key. Timing also becomes a factor when goals and walls begin moving around the level. Ghost balls are then introduced, which must pass through a wall before going into their goal. The complexity keeps piling up making the levels increasingly challenging yet still extremely simple.

In the future, we will be adding many more levels to the existing 60 levels on Skiplit. We also plan on adding a way for users to create their own levels and share them with other players!

Awesome! We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Skiplit🙂
