Pokémon GO – Yesterday, our dreams begame a reality

Just in case you don’t know, Pokémon GO was officially released in Australia yesterday and has blown up the internet with excitement! For players living in Australia, congratulations! You should stop reading this article immediately and download the game! …for everyone else, patience will be required 😓

Luckily for us, being located in Australia our review team was fortunate enough to enjoy some of the amazing new features found in Pokémon GO just a little before the rest of the world 😉

Pokémon GO – First impressions

Pokémon GO is definitely one of the most innovative games we’ve played this year. Taking full advantage of the GPS chips and awesome cameras found in almost every smartphone on the market, Pokémon GO the most realistic – in a “literal” way – game we have ever played.

For players dying to give this game a try, we’ve got one unfortunate announcement. The game is obviously nowhere near as realistic as the teaser video may seem to portray.

The majority of your adventure will be spent staring down at your map in search of new Pokemon to capture, not looking through the lense of your camera.

When you think about it, it is rather obvious – a game that is constantly using the camera would drain your phone’s battery in seconds…

It is unfortunate though none the less…😓

Although the camera isn’t used anywhere near as much as it could be – if power supply wasn’t an issue – when it is, it looks awesome!

The beautiful augmented reality combined with a host of new and lifelike 3D pokemon bring back the characters you grew up with, just this time into the real world!

It’s official, every childhood pokemon fan’s dream has just become a reality 😉

Unfortunately this is as much as we can say for now, having only just stepped foot into what may become the biggest real life gaming adventure in history!
