Do you remember a weird trend called Tech Deck that took 10-year-old boys with way too much time on their hands by storm? Well, today we’ve got a game that reminds us of that very weird time in history…😓
Hard Skating – Flip or Flop (by Studio Generative) is a game about a skateboard, a halfpipe, and timing. Played using a semi-automatic skateboard, your mission in this game is to skillfully tap on the screen of your device at the precise timing required to stop your skateboard mid-air and land back down onto the halfpipe without dying.💀
Perhaps this game would be easy for all of the amazing amateur skateboarders we see at skateparks everywhere(!), however for us normal folk with no special skating abilities, this game is a challenge and a half just to land a single spin… let alone multiple spins…
The longer you survive the higher your board will jump into the air, allowing you to fit more and more spins into a single jump. Unfortunately, most of us will probably never get that far…
With a clean almost minimalist design typical of Studio Generative, together with a number of different boards and challenges for you to unlock or complete, Hard Skating is a simple game we wouldn’t exactly want to play for hours and hours on end.
A few tries here and there will probably be about right for most players…
The Conclusion
Would we consider Hard Skating a Flip or a Flop?
Although it is way too early for us to say whether or not we think this game will go viral or not, we can say that it is a fun game to have on your phone for those few idle moments you have throughout your day.
