Hamza Meer’s review of Shadows

Shadows is a very difficult minimal game that’s got that “The Line” feeling to it!

Take your red cube through the most dangerous levels and avoid obstacles that literally blow you up if you touch them!

Playing this game reminded me a lot of The Line, which was similar to Shadows, but Shadows goes one step further with its unique level design, flawless light effects, and the ability to move freely anywhere on the screen. So for The Line or The Line Zen fans who want to try something with a little more freedom, Shadows is definitely worth a try.

The difficulty level is quite high, but Shadows keeps you coming back for more. You never get repetitive levels or scenes, which got me a bit addicted to seeing “just one more scene”! As a game developer myself, I was impressed with the countless combinations of levels Shadows gives you, I was always on my toes while playing!

The graphics and color selection of the game was remarkable for me personally, I loved how the brown mixes with the yellowish enemies, and the light effects just make it even more remarkable to play the game! Some scenes where you have objects floating around just give you that “floating in space” feeling and it just gets you even more hooked on the game.

As for addictiveness, for the weaker audience whose temperament gets blown easily, I can’t say much, but for me, it was pretty hard to put down!

For anyone who likes difficult games where even the slightest twitch can send you to destruction and wants to see a different style of minimal art, play Shadows; you definitely won’t be bored!
