Earth Atlantis by Pixel Perfex
As usual, we were not hired or paid to feature this game. If it’s bad, we’ll tell you it’s bad.
Set on a post-apocalypse earth where 96% of the earth’s surface is covered in water – and human civilization is no more – Earth Atlantis (by Pixel Perfex) is a game centered around exploring the deep blue oceans which are now filled with dangerous robot/marine life hybrids. You play as a small but very heavily armored submarine with the mission of hunting these post-apocalyptic sea monsters!
Played by touching and dragging anywhere on the left side of the screen in order to control the direction in which your sub moves and the direction in which it faces by tapping on the right side of the screen, Earth Atlantis – just like any other mobile adventure game with virtual on-screen controls – does take some getting used to, but once you’ve gotten the hang of things, isn’t the hardest game to play on mobile.
With a grand total of 3 unlockable ships (not including the ship you start as), a surprisingly long quest mode filled with challenging boss battles and uniquely different enemy types, the gameplay in Earth Atlantis stops nothing short of excellent! Although this is probably to be expected considering Earth Atlantis was originally developed for the Nintendo Switch. Not all games are ported to mobile as nicely as Earth Atlantis has been.
Featuring an artistic set of 2D graphics which almost look hand-drawn(!) – a lot like the graphics in Original Journey (by ZPLAY and Bonfire Entertainment) – Earth Atlantis is an amazing game to both play as well as look at!
Our only 2 complaints when playing the game were (1) some of the narrow bomb-filled passageways are incredibly difficult to maneuver through without a physical joystick – like on the Nintendo Switch, and (2) at the start the game does lack a little documentation. Although you’ll soon figure out what you are doing, you are basically thrown into the ocean with only a vague idea of what you are supposed to be doing…
Other than that, there really isn’t a lot to complain about. In fact, we are kind of addicted at the moment…
Although a little pricey, if you’re after a deep sea adventure game that feels as though it should probably be on a console rather than your smartphone, this is a game you’re going to fall in love with!
…now if you’ll excuse us, we need to get back to exploring the ocean floor…🐟
