Interview with the DeadCool Team, The creators of Circle Hurdle

Do you need a minimalist game with 3 Spikes, a Bouncing Ball, and an Erratic Circle? Congratulations you’ve just found it😉

Circle Hurdle is an awesome little game that is fast, fun, and challenging on a manageable level. A great little game to have in your “games” folder for when boredom strikes hardest.

Read our full review of Circle Hurdle here.

Today we would like to share with you our quick interview with the amazing team that brought Circle Hurdle to the Apple App Store and Google Play (Coming Soon).

Before we start, we’d like to thank Simon Crack from the DeadCool Team for participating in our interview, and for spending some of his valuable time answering our questions. Thanks Simon!

Now without any further ado our interview begins.

Ok first up, why did you decide to make Circle Hurdle?

The inspiration for Circle Hurdle was simple. We wanted to create a very minimal looking game which had a challenging side to it.

Ok, we’ve probably asked you this question 100 times😉
What programming language and or software did you use when making Circle Hurdle?

You have probably heard us say this before but we use BuildBox 2 for all our games.
We are looking forward to the multiplayer possibilities in future versions of BuildBox.

Now, here’s a question our Review Team was dying to ask you. Is there a secret to getting a better score (i.e. surviving longer) in Circle Hurdle?

Actually I can give a few tips here. You have the option to jump and double jump for starters.

You can also hold for a larger jump – it’s this combination of single / double jumping and longer pressing to jump higher which will help you with that elusive high score!

Awesome! We’ll give it a try😁

Ok, here is a difficult question. What was the hardest problem you needed to overcome when developing Circle Hurdle?

By the time the game is finished there are often updates to BuildBox with new features we would like to add to the game.

However sometimes when using the updated version of BuildBox it can break the game we’ve already built. This was the case with Circle Hurdle. In the end we released the game in the earlier version of BuildBox. We didn’t miss out on anything major luckily.
