HIKKURI-GAERU (ひっくりガエル) by MUTAN & GOTTA2

HIKKURI-GAERU (ひっくりガエル) is the cross between Othello and Concentration you never knew you wanted. Played on a gridded board similar to Othello, your mission in this game is to have as many of your own tiles on the board as possible once the game ends. Sound easy? It’s not!

What makes things challenging is that – like concentration – you tiles are constantly flipping over making it extremely difficult for you to remember where exactly all of your tiles are on the board!

The game is scheduled for release during the summer of 2018 and will be available on the Nintendo Switch. English support, as well as a Mobile Version of the game, may (or may not) be available as well…

Forgotton Anne by ThroughLine Games at BitSummit

Forgotton Anne was a game we had heard a lot about on Twitter but hadn’t actually had a chance to look into. For those of you who haven’t seen the many, many different short clips circulating through Twitter, Forgotton Anne is a cinematic adventure game which has been in development for a total of 4 years!

Set in the forgotten lands, a land where all things that are lost or forgotten in our world end up, your mission in this game is to help Master Bonku create a bridge that will allow both Anne and Master Bonku to return to the human world. Unfortunately, not everyone (the Forgotlings) are so impressed with this idea of connecting the two worlds…

Forgotton Anne is available on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One!

PARADE! by Tilt Games and UKN at BitSummit

We have already featured PARADE! by Tilt Games and UKN so if you are interested, you can check out our full review here.

In our very brief chat we had with the developer of PARADE, he discussed how he wanted to create a rhythm game that really allowed players to feel the beat of the music – which is why he chose to add catchy visuals together with cute animals in a ridiculously awesome parade!

If you like the look of this game, we highly recommend you check out our full review.

Eatvolve by Papadar

Eatvolve is a simple 2D platformer game for iOS and Android about eating creatures in order to evolve into a new creature with some of the powers of the creature you devoured. Heavily inspired by games such as Splunky, Kirby, and E.V.O., Eatvolve is a semi-infinite platformer game about creating your dream creature!

With many more features in the works, such as the potential addition of underwater creatures, a Steam release, and maybe even Nintendo Switch support,  we look forward to seeing how this game evolves during the next few months…

Eatvolve is currently scheduled for release in September.

CHUCHEL by Amanita Design

CHUCHEL is a simple (and sometimes not so simple) point and click adventure game for PC, Mac, Steam, iOS, and Android, and will be available sometime in either August or September. The game is centered around humor and comedy and is about a black “hair and dust ball” that loves cherries!

After having his cherry stolen by CHRCHEL (a name we have no idea how to pronounce), little CHUCHEL embarks on a mission to get his cherry back!

With a total of 30 cute and challenging levels, this game may look like a children’s game, but is actually surprisingly challenging! That being said, whether or not the humor will suit your style is up to your personal preference.

BQM – Block Quest Maker by Wonderland Kazakiri

BQM is a game we need to check out! Available on both iOS and Android, BQM is a game about creating your very own RPG style dungeon! With over 22K dungeons designed and uploaded by players from around the world, BQM features simple controls that allow you to make a highly sophisticated dungeon without learning how to design or write code.

On top of this, players can set how much gold is required to play the dungeons they create, allowing you to earn gold via the stages you upload! The gold you earn can be used to not only play other people’s dungeons but can also be used to purchase cool new elements which can be used in the dungeons you create!

The game is currently playable in English, Japanese, and Chinese, and is available worldwide!
