Astro Attack by James Bowling – Review

Astro Attack is our 3rd space shooter review this month – Don’t forget to check out our reviews of Dual Blast  and Hexavoid – and frankly, it’s probably both the best, and the worst shooter in a few different ways.

Starting off with the bad, Astro Attack is nothing new. You won’t get any “unexpected twists” like you do in Hexavoid, nor are there any “special new functions” like you’ll find in Dual Blast. Astro Attack is a classic space shooter with only the basics. Nothing extra.

Now what sets this game apart is that this game’s “game design” is simply extraordinary. As was stated in our interview with the Game Attack Team, creating an actually playable retro game on a mobile device is a near impossible task, so the natural unforced gameplay players are offered in Astro Attack is truly extraordinary.

If you’re looking for a game where you’ll really get that same smooth ease of motion you’ll experience on a console or arcade machine but on a screen 10 times smaller, Astro Attack is the best shooter we’ve ever played!

So, if you’re after a Space Shooter you’re left with 3 choices, “A super modern Space Shooter that looks amazing,” “A semi-retro semi-futuristic hybrid Space Shooter,” or “A retro space shooter that looks like it was taken straight from an arcade, and is insanely easy to play.”

The decision is up to you!

Well actually, they’re all free, so you could just go and download them all…😁
