Appco LLC’s review of .PXL

.PXL is a game that perfectly fills a couple minutes of free time whenever I have it. It takes an interesting spin on utilization of screen space, while keeping the graphics simplistic and fresh. Although it resembles another ‘Flappy Bird’ like game it pushes the boundary with your player object exploding when touching an object, and by changing the objects each and every time you play. For me this kept the game always exciting since you never know what to expect each time you play.

This game also has a very unique in app purchase strategy to remove the ads. The user can choose how much they are willing to pay to remove the ads ($0.99 – $2.99). I find this interesting and an insightful point I had never experienced inside a game before.

The graphics are perfect for the game type. .PXL keeps the game simple looking yet sophisticated enough to make multiple types of obstacles you have to pass.

My one recommendation for the game is to incorporate a choice of playing direction (portrait or landscape). It can be hard to see at times (especially for older users), to see the gameplay. Giving the user more choice in play direction I believe would attract more users of all ages.
